Welcome! Over the last 30 years, I have had the most incredible opportunities as an educator! From my years as a pre-k teacher through college adjunct, supporting building and district leaders as a coach, consulting on early literacy and science of reading, mentoring new teachers and administrators, to serving as a very proud and happy school principal – each role has helped shape me as a lead learner.
No matter what role you have in education, being a leader is hard and important work! It can be lonely, harsh, full of critique and challenges. It’s hard because it matters, but no one has to do it alone. That is why I created The Positive Principal!
My goals through the site are to create a space where you feel like you are supported! How you may ask? With resources, a blog that may contain personal and/or professional reflection, or other links and materials to help support growth, share tidbits, commiserate over stories & screw-ups, and maybe discover a few a-ha’s. There is so much we can learn from each other!
I hope this space holds words that resonate with people, or inspire, or help someone feel seen. Life is about connection.
With care, Kari
